Vista Ridge is located less than 20 miles from downtown Austin in the city of Round Rock. Dell, Inc., Sears, Farmers Insurance, and Cypress Semiconductor are the largest employers in the area. Dell employs more than 10,000 residents locally and has expanded into the Austin area. Anticipated development projects include the 2007 opening of the Chelsea Premium Outlet Shopping retailer and a 252,000 square foot Ikea store. Currently, construction continues of the toll road that will create an additional highway loop connecting Round Rock with northwest Austin and also expand to the east of Round Rock. Other development projects in progress would be Seton Medical’s as well as Scott and White’s plans for new facilities along Highway 35.
